Our response to the situation in Syria
Look forward
Turkey hosts more than four million refugees, including over three million Syrians, making it the country hosting the greatest number of refugees worldwide.
The relationship is not always an easy one on either side, with some camps having been in place for over ten years.
Among the 3.6 million Syrian refugees living in Turkey are 1.2 million children, many of whom have suffered intense emotional and mental trauma.
Much is at stake to ensure that these future adults receive the emotional support, education and training they need to succeed later in life.
Kashfi’s Children has established excellent contacts with initiatives working to support Syrian refugees in Turkey and those helping local Turkish communities, which are themselves under terrible strain due to the country’s own financial crisis.
